‘Figurative Blooms’ at BankHouse Gallery

‘Figurative Blooms’ at BankHouse Gallery

It’s time! 2017 is well and truly here, so Save the Date for the first of the BankHouse Gallery tri-annual exhibitions.

BankHouse Originals is proud to present ‘Figurative Blooms’ a group exhibition featuring Stacey Conridge.

Sunday 26th March @ 2pm, although open all day

Stacey has been drawing and painting all of her life however Stacey’s formal art training can be compared to the traditional apprenticeships from the Studios of the early European painters. She has been taught to paint and draw by a master artist using the traditional methods, techniques and materials that had their origins with artists like Van Dyke, Rembrandt and Vermeer so Stacey has gained a firm foundation in traditional methods and approaches to painting. In keeping with these time-honoured methods you will find the use of rabbit skin gesso panels and only the finest paints and pigments in her works.

Stacey’s tutor and mentor for over 20 years is the recognised Australian artist John Beeman with whom she has spent countless hours under instruction in his studio. In the 40’s and 50’s John did his art training as a student of Julian Ashton’s Art School in Sydney, the Slade School in London and the Courtauld Institute in London, as a result of this background in traditional painting John has imparted; not only his extensive knowledge of painting techniques and materials but also the tradition of these esteemed institutions which place great importance in learning to see and most significantly emphasise that a sound training and discipline in drawing, painting, design and anatomy is vital for the production of quality painting and fine art.

Her full time dedication to her work has resulted in many awards leading Stacey to a first time exhibiting a body of work at BankHouse Gallery; expressing her surroundings of flora and figures on their own and in combination in literal and stylised forms.

I will keep you posted as new work rolls in from collected artists; put this day aside, come for a drive and bask in a beautiful Autumn Sunday at Mallanganee; enjoy a complimentary refreshment, delicious nibbles, meet the artists and support our regional talent.
