BankHouse Gallery ‘Figurative Blooms’ update
Reminder & update for ‘Figurative Blooms’ exhibition opening on Sunday 26th March @ 2pm
Last post l wrote to you about our feature artist Stacey Conridge.
Today it gives me great delight to be introducing Victoria Pitel, with clay figurative sculptures from her body of work Note to Self. Victoria’s work is finely honed, thought provoking and not to forget; absolutely exquisite. A complement to ‘Figurative Blooms’ and any collection.
Note to Self is an exploration of what it means to inhabit the human body; a site from which thought takes place, how patterns are formed, how beliefs and values become ingrained.
These figurative forms express presence through the examination of self; where boundaries become indistinct and language is rooted intuition.
All figures are hand built using traditional slab, coil and pinch techniques.
With an honours degree in Visual Arts (ceramics) Victoria finds herself working as a ceramic tutor and workshop facilitator sharing her extensive experience and skills with clay lovers throughout the Northern Rivers.
You will also see new works from Jen Banks, Marion Arent, Angela Bettess, Susie Marcroft, Nicole Heckel, Kathy Pollitt and Susan Richardson.
So come along and celebrate a belated International Women’s Day by viewing an all female exhibition with strength, integrity and love. Make a day of it; enjoy complimentary refreshments and nibbles, meet the artists and absorb the majestic countryside that is Mallanganee.
