My creative practice explores what it means to inhabit the human body; a site from which thought takes place and through which inner states are projected. Narratives of the human condition allow for the exploration of presence and the examination of self. As a ‘cultural hybrid’ l explore identity, history and human interaction through visual narratives.
By employing the figure as a map to human experience, the body, ever present, yet hidden and complex, is a source that connects place, time and memory. My figurative ceramic sculptures offer an insight into deeper psychological compositions, with the aim of re-evaluating perceptions of the human experience.
